Course Description
The PADI Divemaster course is your gateway to becoming a professional diver. What to Expect
- Knowledge Development: Start with PADI Dive Master manual and video theory, that will be covering topics such as dive theory, leadership, and risk management. Interactive presentations, videos, and quizzes help you grasp the essential concepts. This phase typically takes around 50 hours to complete.
- Practical Application: Engage in practical training sessions where you’ll refine your diving skills. This includes leading dive groups, assisting instructors, and conducting dive briefings. You’ll also practice organizing search and recovery projects, mapping dive sites, and managing diver stress.
- Skill Workshops: Participate in workshops that focus on rescue skills, navigation, and dive management. These hands-on sessions ensure you are well-prepared to handle real-world diving scenarios.
Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prerequisites: Must have PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver certifications (or equivalent). Additionally, you need to have completed an Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care course within the past 24 months.
- Experience: At least 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 logged dives to complete the certification.
- Health: Must be medically fit for diving, with a current medical statement signed by a physician.
Considerations
- Duration: The course duration varies depending on your schedule and pace, but it typically takes several weeks to complete both the online and practical components.
- Equipment: Equipment: Basic scuba gear is provided, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive computer, and tank. Please bring personal items like swimwear, sunscreen, and a towel with you.
- Certification: Upon completion, you’ll receive a PADI Divemaster certification, allowing you to work as a dive professional, assist with scuba courses, and lead recreational dives.
